My name is James Langtad, and I am running for Kauai County Council.

About me​​
​
I’m a Kauai local, born and raised, with a deep love for my community and country. After graduating from the Youth Challenge Program with the Academic Achievement Award, I jumped straight into the construction industry. For the last five years, I’ve successfully run my own local handyman business.
Today, my focus is expanding. I am actively working to launch a sustainable farm program. My hands-on experience in construction and agriculture has given me a front-row seat to the critical challenges Kauai faces with housing and farming—and I’m committed to building a better future for our island.

Why am I running for council?​
​
Kauai is facing serious hurdles, and I know I have the critical thinking skills needed to find real solutions. If elected, I will work tirelessly to:

Increase our food sustainability, so we rely less on imports

Ease our housing crisis to protect local families

Create sustainable jobs for the people of Kauai

I strongly believe we need dedicated farm and working housing, robust rehabilitation programs, and youth facilities integrated into our existing and future affordable housing complexes
